Why the interface matters more than the badge
A crank fits your frame through a bottom bracket that matches both the shell and the crank spindle, whatever the brand. So the useful thing to know about a maker is which interfaces it builds for, not just its name. Each brand page below lists what the maker produces and how to match it to your frame.
Once you know your shell standard and crank spindle, any of these makers becomes a straightforward choice.

Choosing between them
Shimano and SRAM dominate complete drivetrains and cover every shell through their bottom bracket ranges. Campagnolo leads on road groupsets. FSA and Race Face are common original equipment. Hope, Chris King and White Industries are chosen for machined durability, and Praxis for conversion bottom brackets that quiet a pressfit frame.
Whichever you choose, confirm the shell and crank spindle first, then pick the maker's part for that standard.
Mixing brands on one bike
Mixing brands across a bike is normal and usually fine at the fitment level, because the crank, bottom bracket, headset and seatpost each answer to a frame standard rather than to each other. A Shimano crank can run in a frame with a Chris King headset and a White Industries hub, so long as each part matches its own standard.
The one place to be careful is the drivetrain itself, where shifter, derailleur, cassette and chain are engineered as a system and are not always cross-compatible between makers. That is a shifting question rather than a fitment one, and it does not change how the crank meets the shell.
