A 24 mm Shimano crank fits a 70 mm Italian shell with an Italian-thread BB (36 mm x 24 TPI). The BB thread is different from BSA, so an English BB will not start in an Italian shell.

Both Italian cups are right-hand thread, so the drive side tightens clockwise and can unwind under pedalling. Use threadlocker or check it periodically.
