A 24 mm Shimano Hollowtech II crank is the native fit for a BSA shell. The threaded BB screws into the 1.37 in x 24 TPI shell, drive-side cup reverse-threaded. This is the most reliable and serviceable combination.
Remember the drive-side cup tightens anticlockwise. Turning it the normal way just jams it harder against the shell and rounds the tool flats.
