A 24 mm Shimano crank is the native fit for a BB92 MTB shell. It is the wider sibling of BB86 with the same 41 mm bore, so use a BB92-length unit.
Do not fit a road BB86 unit in a BB92 shell. It is too short and will not preload the crank across the wider shell.
